It’s been a year since the two-year state budget impasse ended. Illinois started the new fiscal year July 1 with a budget in place, which was agreed to — on time, no less — with widespread bipartisan support.

Don’t think for a second that means everyday Illinoisans aren’t still feeling the pain caused by stubborn elected officials who put the need for a political win above the needs of their constituents.  Click here to read more
